The first wave will consist of 200 buses, which will be used to assess the investment’s viability in the market. Gradually rolling out the rest of 2800 will be done throughout the course of the coming months.
The increasing population size and physical expansion of Addis Ababa largely contribute to the demand for public transport. Social and economic purpose trips also contribute to the demand for public transport in the city. However, the existing public transportation system could not satisfy the demand.
The soon-to-be deployed fleet of buses is expected to alleviate the risen demand for public transportation in the capital.
