Ethiopia Establishes National Chapter of African Women Fish Processors and Traders Network.

Ethiopian Women Fish Processors and Traders Network has been established in Addis Ababa. The institution has been established as a part of the African Women Fish Processors and Traders Network(AWFishNET) which is a non-profit, non-political, and non-religious collaborative network joining women fish processors and traders from all over Africa has been established in 2017.

The firm is intended to play a key role in promoting economic linkages at both the national and regional levels. The network, according to Hussein Abegaz, Director of Fishery Development at the Ministry of Agriculture, would serve as a forum for women involved in the fishing industry to share best practices and assist preserve the sector’s quality of output.

It has been reported that the association’s market connectivity with the rest of Africa will provide greater market access to Ethiopian women fish farmers and dealers. The ultimate purpose of AWFishNET is to offer a platform for African women fish processors and dealers to interact and collaborate.
