October 21, 2021

Jotun Group, one of the leading paint brands in the world has officially opened its 42nd factory in Ethiopia’s Adama Industry Park.

The global chemical company based in Norway specializes in decorative paints and performance coatings (marine, protective, and powder coatings). It is one of the major producers of paints and coatings in the world.

Jotun produces marine and industrial paints and varnishes, as well as synthetic resins, floor coverings, polyurethane foam, heavy-duty coatings, binders, unsaturated polyesters, glass-fiber reinforced polyester pipes, and tanks.

The firm also has a big presence in Africa, having production plants in Egypt, Algeria, and South Africa, as well as the Ethiopian facility being the fourth.

According to EIC, the factory has a capacity of manufacturing 8 million liters of paint every year, providing value to the firm.

Unlike its past methods of entering other economies, Jotun entered Ethiopia directly through production rather than through representative offices and agents.
