The Pedal n Spin foot-cranked washing machine is a pedal-powered mechanical device (no electricity needed) that is easy to use, reliable, & environmentally friendly. He invented it for households who experience continuous electricity outages, poorer communities who can’t afford too much electricity bills, and those who choose to live off the grid. This innovation is also helpful for people interested in decreasing their carbon footprint and dependence on fossil fuels. Using the washing machine from a seated position will give users stronger leg muscles and improve posture & efficiency.
The materials are made from wood and steel components and fit the green solutions for sustainability and recyclability. Kal is working on more innovative solutions to contribute to the renewable energy sector and the planet’s sustainability. He also wants to educate and encourage his fellow engineering students and high school students to move towards green solutions.
