January 13, 2022

China presents the Initiative of Peaceful Development in the Horn of Africa to support regional countries in addressing the triple challenges of security, development, and governance. The initiative aims to address the challenges of security, development & management to create a pleasant environment.

China plays a beneficial role in multiple projects like the Mombasa-Nairobi & the Addis Ababa-Djibouti Railway. Its goal is to accelerate regional revitalization to overcome development challenges and expand to neighboring countries at an opportune moment.

Its objective is to create more synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Africa’s development strategies, promote different programs for the China-Africa Cooperation, and make efforts for peace and development in the Horn of Africa. China is prepared to designate a Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to give vital support for this process.

The Red Sea coast and East Africa coast development need to be moving faster to form a development framework of ‘two axes plus two coasts.’ There will also be an acceleration of the industrial and economic belt establishment, produce employment & growth, enhance independent development capability, and reach the global pace.
