The Addis Ababa City Administration launches a 5,000 Condominium Apartments Construction Project at Akaki Kaliti sub-city. This project has an ETB 8 billion budget & anticipated to finish within a year to meet the housing demand by urban dwellers.

The state construction company, Ethiopian Construction Works Corporation, will construct the apartments using prefabricated technology. Prefabricated construction is a more straightforward method of construction using components made off-site in a factory and is then transported and put together on-site to create a structure.

After completing this project, the Addis Ababa City Administration aims to build 5,000 houses. The Administration is working on implementing different options for financial housing, bringing in international experience to help, and making the condominium housed with mortgage bonds.
