This launch follows the introduction of the new Ethiopian Airlines mobile app that allows users to check the flight schedule, submit an inquiry, receive notifications when the shipment is ready, book charter flights, and track shipments.
The online cargo-booking platform lets users check available flights, freight space and book in real-time on cargobooking.ethiopianairlines.com. Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO, Mr. Tewolde GebreMariam, stated that the platform would be essential to enable direct cargo customers and forwarders trustworthy access to the cargo capacity inventory.
By digitalizing the logistics value chain, the long hours required when using the paper-based system are no longer an issue since customers now have a practical and simplified service to book their cargo. This is part of the Airline’s long-term goal to digitize the logistics value chain for operational excellence.
Ethiopian Airlines customers are now provided with a fully automated cargo service that uses modern technology for data, information, and market intelligence. The company reshaped its cargo operations by using one of the latest Cargo IT systems and acquiring the newest aviation systems and technologies.
