Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces preparation to host the 35th AU Summit in A.A on Feb 2-6 have begun.

The African Union yearly summit aims to promote Africa’s growth & economic development by cooperation & integration of African states. In addition, hosting the conference in Addis would demonstrate peace and stability in the country and create opportunities to restate Ethiopia’s stance on the African Agenda and exhibit good status to African allies.

The theme of the 35th AU Summit is “Building Resilience in Nutrition on the African Continent: Accelerate the Human Capital, Social & Economic Development.” To ensure a successful and smooth Ministerial and Heads of State and Government Sessions, the Ministry appointed a national committee composed of all relevant institutions to monitor preparations.

There will be two sessions for two days each. On February 2-3, there will be a Ministerial Session for the 40th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council. On February 5-6, there will be the Heads of State and Government session for the 35th ordinary Session of the AU Assembly.
