The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) of Nigeria establishes a committee of 16 members on organic agriculture innovation platforms or technical advisory. They were chosen due to their diverse background and based on the National Policy on Organic Agriculture proposal that addresses organic agriculture challenges in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
This committee is a step forward and indicates that FCT Administration is ambitious to make organic agriculture execution a reality in the territory. Committee members will organize stakeholder mobilization and organizing in the organic farming value chain into viable cooperatives societies able to support their objectives of acquiring health, economic and social benefits from the agricultural sector and other sectors.
The committee terms include proposing programs, policies, & regulations for organic product development. They aim to strengthen organic agriculture food security and boost productivity across the country.
