USAID Ethiopia announces two new investments of over 10.2 billion ETB. These investments are the USAID Ifaa and USAID Strengthening PSNP 5 Institutions & Resilience activities that will run for 5 years under the Ethiopian government. The government leads the Productive Safety Net Program (PSNP 5) that helps 9 million Ethiopians to get themselves out of poverty. USAID is the major donor of the PSNP 5 that invested over 60 billion ETB since 2015.

These new investments will allow thousands of citizens a chance to gain the tools and skills needed to accomplish their goals. The activities include soil and water conservation practices, training to restore degraded lands, grow nutritious foods, and preparing young men & women with workforce readiness skills.

USAID is investing in the PSNP 5 for every region it is implemented in. These new activities are on top of the over 220 billion ETB the USAID has funded over the last five years, aiming to empower Ethiopians and help them lead healthier, more resilient, and prosperous lives.
