Acronis launches its first data cloud data center in South Africa to expand its presence in the continent.

February 3, 2022

Acronis launches its first data cloud data center in Johannesburg, South Africa, to expand its presence in the continent. Acronis is a global cyber protection firm with over 40 data centers from Europe to Asia and the USA to Africa.

This is one of many initiatives to manage all data centers globally, decrease geographic redundancy, control for local partners, and a local disaster recovery site. The goal is to allow service providers no difficulty meeting the ever-changing compliance, data sovereignty, and performance requirements encountered.

The company is deploying another 110 new data centers to give service provider partners access to cyber protection solutions. This will enable them to create new services and provide quicker access, continuous data availability, and sovereignty to clients.

Acronis believes that its data center is precisely what partners in the ecosystem require and accelerate digital transformation among South African businesses. Its next move is to launch operations in Kenya this year, indicating that Kenya is among the growth targets between 2022 and early 2023.
