Ethiopian Bunna’s Premier League star player and all-time leading scorer Abubaker Nassir signs with Mamelodi Sundowns, the leading South African league. Abubaker, considered the Golden Boy of East African football, was part of Cameroon’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

The 21-year-old scored 29 goals in 23 Ethiopian Premier League games that attracted football clubs worldwide. Abubeker is the 3rd Ethiopian player in the South African Premier Soccer League following Fikru Teferra.

South African media channels stated that Abubaker made an impression during his trial in South Africa. The Ethiopian Coffee club said that he will return to Ethiopia to play for Bunna until the end of the football season and will go back to Johannesburg in four months.

He has 15 wins for Ethiopia, three goals, and was a vital player for the successful qualification campaign of the national team for the 2021 AFCON. He was also an integral part of the world cup, qualifying for the Walias.
