Creative of the week – Ye Hagere

February 9, 2022

Ye Hagere is a handmade brand that aims to create eco-friendly products in Ethiopia. It is a community-based company that cares about the sustainability of the environment. They have been striving to incorporate traditional elements with modern clothing materials to produce high-quality wear with cultural essence.

Ye Hagere makes an immense effort to contribute to the sustainability of our environment by planning in detail how the waste materials from their production allow them to recycle the materials used in producing their products. They have mentioned that they will be incorporating a Green Production Routine in the future by using recycled materials to convey their active actions towards protecting the environment.

Ye Hagere is known for producing traditional items such as scarves, pouch bags, pillowcases, bags, and leather products as well. Their products reflect simplicity through the hand-picked eco-friendly raw materials which are mostly locally sourced and inspired by Ethiopian and African culture. Their traditional element and color combinations make it a combo of visually appealing and sustainable products.

Ye Hagere is beyond creating culturally aesthetic products but environmentally sustainable products as well. It is obvious that their inspiration strongly lies in their experiences as they are highly contributing to creating a unique corner for Ethiopian-made products to shift people’s mindset about this country. The concept is absolutely inspirational and the fact that it is being implemented has made us choose this company to join our creative pool.
