Eritrean Natnael Tesfatsion wins the 14th Tour du Rwanda held from February 20 – 27. The tournament is the biggest UCI cycling race in Africa that attracts UCI World Tour teams, professional continental teams, continental teams, and national teams.

Natnael Tesfatsion is a 22-year-old professional road-racing cyclist. He has competed in several cycling races like the 2020 La Tropicale Amissa Bongo (2nd place), 2021 Tour du Doubs (4th place), and 2019 second National Championships Eritrea – Road Race (2nd place).

He is Tour du Rwanda champion for the second time after winning his first UCI 2.1 African tour title in 2020. He is the first cyclist to win the Tour du Rwanda Best Young Rider U23 jersey for the second time after the race’s 2019 upgrade. He also won the Best African Rider jersey. He had the support of his five teammates from the Drone Hopper – Androni Giocattoli team.
