The Addis Ababa City Administration announces that the Adwa Zero Kilometer construction project reached 75% completion. The construction project is located in the heart of Addis Ababa, Piassa, across the Mayor’s office of Addis Ababa and right next to the statue of Emperor Menelik II.
The 4.6 billion ETB project is the first of its kind. It has completed its structural and electrification works, with the remaining finished soon. The project contains the Adwa Memorial Museum, an amphitheater, libraries, youth center, recreational centers, a mega hole that can host 1,000 people, and a parking lot accommodating 1000 cars.
The project aims to beautify the city, commemorate the victory of Adwa, create job opportunities, and generate income by increasing tourism. The museum celebrates the strength, bravery, and triumph of Ethiopian forefathers and foremothers at the battle of Adwa. It is the center of the African victory and serves as a place to revive the spirit of Pan-Africanism.
