TotalEnergies launches the first solarized service station in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

TotalEnergies is an energy company producing and marketing energies like oil and biofuels, natural gas and green gases, renewables, and electricity internationally. The solar-powered station is among several plans of the company to solarize 5,000 service stations in 57 countries by installing solar panels at 1,000 service stations every year. It launched the first solarized service station in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, which is part of its ongoing transformation plan.

So far, TotalEnergies has set up 11 solar-powered stations in the coastal region, 6 in the Southern Highlands, 4 in the northern highlands, and 3 in the Lake Zone in Tanzania. It strives to reach 68 by the end of 2022. In addition, it will establish industrial sites like its Dar es Salaam terminal and Lubricants Oil Blending Plant that’ll produce nearly 900 kW of electricity yearly.

TotalEnergies aims to be one of the top companies in the energy transition & have net-zero carbon emissions in line with its 2050 ambition. With these solar stations, TotalEnergies aims to allow users to enjoy products and services powered by solar energy. Total Tanzania transitioned to TotalEnergies Marketing Tanzania and became the first Oil Marketing Company in the country. The transition reflects the company’s dedication to creating an environment with fewer carbon emissions and progress in its products and services in the energy sector.
