For the men’s category in the 2022 Rome Marathon, Fikre Bekele set a new record for the men’s race with 2:06:28. He beat the previous record of 2:07.17 set in 2009 by Kenyan Benjamin Kiptoo. In addition, Tadesse Temechachu won second place in the men’s race with a new lifetime best of 2:07:04, while Abraham Girma finished in fourth place with a time of 2:08:31.
In the women’s category, Sechale Dalasa won the women’s race with a time of 2:26:09. Tadelech Nedi won third place in the women’s race and improved her personal best at a time of 2:31.00, while Yeshimebet Bifa finished in fourth place with a time of 2:32:16.
