Standard Bank Group receives the 2022 World’s Best Banks in Africa Awards.

April 8, 2022

Global Finance selects the Standard Bank Group for the 2022 World’s Best Banks in Africa Awards for the second consecutive year. The publication’s editors made selections by consulting with corporate financial executives, bankers and banking consultants, and analysts. Global Finance selected the Standard Bank Group for its strong business performance and innovation in client positioning and key transactions.

The bank provides its services by focusing on underlying economic recovery in the countries it operates in and propelling its increasing platform strategy. In addition, the bank plans to build 10 ‘ecosystems’ alongside the traditional financial services to add more value to clients’ personal and business lives, such as providing home services, connecting small traders to suppliers, linking suppliers and consumers of renewable energy, and helping Arica’s exporters to access international markets. It created a new operating structure intending to transform its clients’ experience by building a solid foundation in traditional financing services.

Sim Tshabalala, Chief Executive of Standard Bank Group, stated that receiving the continent’s highest recognition from an authoritative institution such as Global Finance is a great honor and an affirmation of the hard work the banks employees all over Africa contribute every day. He added that the bank would continue to enhance its capabilities and keep up with clients growing needs by providing appropriate and impactful solutions that drive inclusive and sustainable growth. Malawi and South Africa also named the Standard Bank the best bank.
