Ethiopia plans to host a world record outdoor Iftar program, Great Iftar, as part of the Eid Homecoming Initiative. The Eid Homecoming is the second homecoming event that invites 100,000 Diasporas to celebrate this years’ Eid al-Fitr to Eid al-Adha with their family and friends living in Ethiopia. The Eid to Eid festival invites Muslims from different countries to join the Great Salat and Ramadan dinner.

Ethiopia aims to revive its tourism sector and make its heritage known to the international community. The event will have Islamic and non-religious heritages on display for tourists, hoping to bring an impact on diplomacy and boost Ethiopia’s relations with Middle Eastern countries. In addition, the event is necessary to show national solidarity Diasporas, locals, and tourists are invited to join this event and celebrate this years’ Eid al-Fitr together.
