The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization with 36 member countries, each serving a 3-year term with eligibility for re-election. It is dedicated to ending world hunger and saving lives in emergencies. It uses food aids to create a passage to peace, stability, and prosperity for people healing from conflict, disasters, and the effects of climate change. The board’s responsibilities include offering transnational assistance, policy advice, and overseeing WFP activities.
The World Food Programme elects Ethiopia to be one of its Executive Board Members. Its administrative body added Ethiopia as the Permanent Mission of Ethiopia to the United Nations. Ethiopia will work with other member countries to support crisis-hit countries.
