Edo state government, southern Nigeria, offers over 4,000 residents a five-day free medical care services. The mission is to provide high-quality medical services to all Edo citizens. The free services include treatments and surgeries for heart, kidney, eye, teeth, and other ailments. The Association of Nigeria Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) supports this service and will continue the partnership through telemedicine.
Godwin Obaseki, Edo State Governor, ensured that the government aims to provide essential medical services and sustain a resilient and impartial health system. He added that The government encourages citizens to take advantage of this offer and receive lifesaving diagnoses and treatment. Prof. Obehi Akoria, Edo State Commissioner for Health, reported that 65 highly qualified specialists are already in the state to team up with 200 volunteers, including clinical and non-clinical volunteers.
