Ethiopian Investment Holdings is the largest in Africa, with assets worth over $150 billion under management and additional dividend income inflow. The EIH is the country’s strategic arm and will integrate public resources within one institution & form administrative systems for state-owned companies’ high returns. It aims to use professional management & adopt international best practices to expand state-owned assets’ value. EIH is preparing portfolio management to identify which enterprises to take on during the first phase of operations.
International Sovereign Wealth Fund is a voluntary organization aiming to spread the sovereign wealth fund model throughout Africa and encourage institutions to adopt international best governance practices. It is working to reinforce the community through dialogue, research, and self-assessment. It recently welcomed the Ethiopian Investment Holdings as an associate member for three years. Together with the IFSWF, EIH aims to become a fully-fledged sovereign wealth fund to attract international private capital into Ethiopia.
