Shints Garment constructs residential houses in Bole Lemi Industrial Park, a first for Ethiopia

Shint Garment is a South Korean-owned company that is part of Shin Textile Solutions, a leading manufacturing company in the garment industry. It is located in Bole Lemi Industrial Park in Addis Ababa. The manufacturing company began operations in Ethiopia over a year ago and exports textiles to the U.S.A, Europe, and other countries. Its brand new residential houses cost $10 million and aim to tackle employees’ housing difficulties.

The 2,700 residential houses are the first of their kind in Ethiopia. The company wanted to create a friendly environment for its employees and encourage other industrial companies in the area to follow suit. Ethiopia’s government is prioritizing the manufacturing sector to boost the country’s economic development and job opportunities. It aims to have a 20.6% growth by 2030 and 1.3 million new jobs every year. Companies like Shint Garment contribute to the country’s economy and job creation by building manufacturing buildings and improving their employees’ living condition.
