The Africa Pay & ID Expo (APIDE) is the B2B platform that merges debates and networking for all card, payment, identification, and mobile professionals in North, West, and Central Africa. The 15th edition of the APIDE award selects Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security to receive the African Excellence E-Government Award. The award recognizes the advanced level of services by the latest national electronic identity document (CNIE 2.0). It also recognizes the national electronic identity document’s role in ensuring documents’ security, remote transactions, and boosting confidence in digital identity.
DGSN was chosen for providing the transition into a whole digital identity and highly secure integration into modern technologies in identity documents. The structuring project helps accelerate the digital evolution of public administration in Morocco. It also allows all public services & private actors to bring their services closer to the public. In 2019, DGSN launched a second-generation electronic national identity card, an advanced card including multiple security level elements fortifying its dependability for public and private stakeholders.
