Coca-Cola has been active in Ethiopia since 1959 in Abinet, Addis Ababa. Since then, the company has contributed to the country’s export revenue, investment, job creation, and shared opportunities for businesses & communities. It opened its fifth branch in Ethiopia for $100 million, built in the town of Sebeta. The new factory allows the integration of input production such as performs, closures, and other materials expected to increase foreign exchange and provide to the local market.
The factory increases production capacity to over 100 million cases a year and produces new products like the Minute Maid Juice. In addition, the company created 500 more jobs, with over 70,000 workers in all five branches. The company aims to boost its export, increase employment, relieve foreign exchange constraints, and solve the sector’s shortages.
