Fortescue Future Industries receives a green hydrogen and ammonia production license

Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) is a global green energy & product company producing zero-emission green hydrogen from renewable resources. The Australian company is leading the green industrial revolution by developing technology solutions for hard-to-decarbonize industries and building a global portfolio of renewable green hydrogen & green ammonia projects. It aims to produce 15 million tonnes per year of green hydrogen by 2030 and increase to 50 million tonnes per year in 2040.

It recently received a green hydrogen and ammonia production license to develop hydropower, geothermal, wind, & solar resources to increase green energy access and plans to produce 10GW of power. FFI identified Ethiopia as one of Africa’s key markets. It is well established in Ethiopia and will use the country’s abundant renewable energy electricity and electrolysis of water to make green hydrogen, oxygen, and green hydrogen for zero carbon emission. FFI and the Ethiopia Government are dedicated to ensuring the project’s proper execution while protecting the environment, contributing to economic development, and supporting communities through job-creating & education.
