Ethiopian Airlines, MoH, Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia, & Rotary Ethiopia sign an MoU to help children with heart disease

Ethiopian Airlines, the Ministry of Health, Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia, and Rotary Ethiopia sign an MoU to help children with cardiovascular disease get free medical services. Ethiopian Airlines will provide 100 children and 100 caretakers round-trip services to Bombay, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai in India to get free medical services. The Ministry of Health will assist by obtaining all the necessary permits, approvals, and legal & administrative support for the children and their caretakers to travel and get medical help from Immigration and Citizenship Service. In addition, Rotary International will cover medical and local expenses & work with Rotary India to get essential information needed for the treatment service. At the same time, CHFE prepares travel and clinical documentation.

Ethiopia has 7,000 children with heart disease waiting for surgical treatment at Cardiac Center Ethiopia and public hospitals. The Ministry of Health enhances Ethiopia’s medical services and increases access to medical supplies. The MoH and CHFE also signed another agreement to enhance free cardiac surgery medical services and facilitate the provision of medicines & other medical utensils.
