Sylvia Mulinge becomes the new CEO of MTN Uganda

Sylvia Mulinge gets elected as the new CEO of MTN Uganda, effective October 1, 2022. Sylvia was chosen due to her 20 years of experience in strategic thinking, brand building, new business development, commercial execution, people growth & development in the Telecommunications and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors. She is also a certified executive coach & mentor. She will work with MTN Uganda to achieve the company’s strategic goal of becoming Africa’s leading telecommunications and digital solutions provider.

She is the current Chief Consumer Business Officer at Safaricom PLC, managing the consumer telecoms business. She also handles the company’s overall brand and leads its transformation to become a digital lifestyle enabler of its consumers’ lives. Sylvia is passionate about transforming lives, leadership, women empowerment, and creating community impact. She has led multiple initiatives to empower women in business and entrepreneurship.
