Ethiopia breaks the coffee export record with 1.4 billion for the 2021/22 fiscal year. This record was set by the export of 300,000 tons of coffee to the international market. Ethiopian coffee has Germany, the United States, and Saudi Arabia as its top 3 purchasers. The country increased its volume by over 20.54% and its revenue by around 53.8% from the previous year through maximized efforts by modernizing the logistics services and facilitating loans to coffee exporters and suppliers.
The country has also participated in promotional activities at several international trade shows, including those in the United States, Europe, and Dubai. In addition, the increased exports were due to soaring global commodity prices, shortened supply chain, growing emerging coffee markets, and improved transparent trading. Ethiopia is the biggest coffee producer in Africa due to its world-renowned quality coffee.
