The Africa-America Institute is set to host its 38th Annual Awards Gala “”Africa in the World”” on September 22, 2022. The Gala is one of the most awaited African-focused events in New York City that is held in the same week as the United Nations General Assembly that brings together heads of state, diplomats, government officials, and many more. The Gala honors leaders who used their platform to improve their sectors, nationally & internationally. The awards & honors include National Achievement, Science & Technology Leadership, Ambassador for African Cinema, and Distinguished Alumna.
The Africa-America Institute (AAI) seeks to enrich humanity’s social fabric by connecting students and leaders from various sectors, facilitating access to reliable information about Africa, and transforming our understanding of Africa and its global diaspora. AAI has provided scholarships and fellowships to over 23,000 Africans since its inception in 1953. These individuals are part of an esteemed network of alumni, many of whom are leaders and influencers in Africa and worldwide in public, private, and governmental sectors.
