In Dakar, Senegal, FIFA launched a new football development project, Lycee Lamine Gueye, celebrated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and hundreds of school children. The Lycée Lamine Gueye has a capacity of 3,000 students, and the project is part of the FIFA Forward program.
The project includes constructing a new pitch, an outdoor futsal court, and renovating changing rooms for boys and girls. The project enables the community to benefit when hosting training sessions for clubs and schools in the Dakar-Plateau area, inter-school (UASSU) and inter-university competitions, and pupils from nearby colleges.
FIFA President said that the smile is the joy that FIFA wants to give to all the students of Lamine Gueye. He added that football is a joy and should be used to train the young people of tomorrow. It is essential to ensure that sport and education go hand in hand because sport and football are a school of life.
