Ferdinand Omanyala wins Kenya’s first Commonwealth Games in 60 years for the 100m title with a time of 10.02. The only Kenyan to win the Kenyan 100m at the Club games in 1962 is Seraphino Antao. However, the race was 100 yards, which is around 91.44 meters.
He is a 26-year-old Kenyan sprinter specializing in 100m & 200m who is one of the world’s best athletes. Ferdinand began his career in 2015 while he was still a chemistry student at the University of Nairobi. He has won several races (56 races), including three national championships in Kenya and two African championships in Mauritius. He holds the record as Africa’s fastest runner & 8th fastest man of all time in the 100m with a time of 9.77.
