Gebeya Makes It To The Top 20 Africa’s Business Heroes Prize List 2022

Gebeya Inc., an Ethiopian-based company, is one of the top 20 finalists for Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) competition 2022. Gebeya is a Pan-African online freelance talent marketplace providing enterprise management services with its headquarters in Addis Ababa. It has remote teams in Kenya, Senegal, North America, and the UK. The company intends to play an active role in Africa’s digital transformation and help build a flourishing continent by maximizing continental and global job opportunities. Gebeya offers management services to large corporations such as Ethiopian Airlines, Air Senegal, Heineken, and the telecommunications company, Orange. Gebeya aspires to be the most trusted and dependable source of skilled talent, demonstrating Africa’s competitiveness.

Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) Prize Competition is a notable philanthropic initiative founded by the Jack Ma Foundation to support African entrepreneurs. ABH aims to support African entrepreneurs in building a more sustainable and inclusive economy for Africa. The top 20 finalists, 50% female, in this year’s ABH prize competition prove Africa’s immense talent and capacity. The finalists are from various industries, including agriculture, education & training, healthcare, energy, information & communication technology (ICT), retail, consulting, manufacturing, financial services, and environmental protection.

Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) competition shows equality in its selection methods, where the finalists are selected equally throughout the continent. ABH chooses 30% from the west, 25% from the east & south, and 20% from the north & central parts of Africa, with primary operations in 11 African countries, including Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Somalia, South Africa, and Tanzania. Finalists need to persuade ABH that their company is worth the investment. The competition will select ten finalists for a chance of winning a share of a $1.5 million grant money.
