Nigeria’s Kunle Awosika becomes Managing Director of Microsoft Africa Transformation Office(ATO). Kunle Awosika takes the place of Wael Elkabbany, who stepped into a new role at the African Regional Cluster. He has over twenty-two years of experience working in multiple countries across the African continent. He was one of the three pioneer team members when Microsoft opened its Nigeria office in 2021. He has held several positions at Microsoft, including director of Enterprise Business, manager of Microsoft Kenya, director of Small and Medium Corporates, Emerging Markets, and others. Throughout his career, he is credited with introducing various transformational technology opportunities to many public and private sector organizations. Kunle is well-versed in business savvy, leadership, and innovation. His experience has given him a deep understanding of Africa’s growth in the digital world.

Microsoft Africa Transformation Office (ATO) works as one of the leading initiatives for digital transformation across the African continent. The company collaborates with partners to ensure Africa’s digital sustainable growth. They focus on five key focus areas. Digital Infrastructure, Skills, SMEs, Startups, and Strategic Partnerships. In a Microsoft ATO press release, Kunle expressed his excitement for the future of Africa, stating the incredible potential the continent holds to become digitally connected to the world and to get a chance to have an impact on this growth and contribute to the continent’s full digital potential.
