Ahlam Hamid won gold at the Karate-1 Premier League

Ahlam Hamid, an Egyptian karate player, won gold at the 2022 Karate-1 Premier League Karate championship. Hamdi won after defeating Ukrainian Anzhelika Terliuga, the 2022 European Karate Championships winner. Hamid competed in the 55 kg weight class and won her first match 8-0 against the Spanish national team. The Egyptian team competed with 13 male and female players in the Premier League. The Egyptian team took home five medals: two gold, two silver, and one bronze. Youssef Badawi also took gold in the under-84 kg men’s weight class. The silver medalists were Karim Abu Attiyah and Taha Tariq, and the bronze medalist was Abdullah Mamdouh in the 75 kg weight class.

The 2022 Karate-1 Premier League Karate championship was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. The game lasted from August 28 to September 5. The Karate-1 Premier League is the most important league event in the karate world. It consists of several prominent karate competitions and aims to bring together the best karate athletes in the world in open championships of unprecedented scale and quality. The Karate-1 Premier League, initiated by the World Karate Federation, started in 2011 with two tournaments in Paris and Istanbul. Since then, it has grown exponentially in terms of the magnitude and status of the tournaments. The game has also increased in the number of participants and countries represented.
